How to Read (a Lot) More Books

The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."  -  Dr. Seuss

In the past six months I have read more than in all my other years. My lifestyle changed with it. I am glad I did. I want you to help to read more. Not by one or two books a year but by ten or more. It is not as hard to read thirty books a year as you might think. Although, you will have to start with smaller goals to make a book more enjoyable.

1. Read two books at the same time

Most people read one book at a time. Although, it can be very handy. I do prefer read two books nowadays. Because in some moods you are likely to want to read a novel and other times when you are more concentrated you will be reading a non-fiction. So, try to read two different types of books at the same time.

2. Give audiobooks a try

I was skeptical about audiobooks in the beginning. Nevertheless, I gave it a try and it turns out to be one of the fastest ways to listen to a book. Although, I still think listening to non-fiction book is not that good of an idea. Mainly because you will easily miss some points when you are not that focused. Moreover, If you travel a lot you should give audiobooks a serious try it is really handy while traveling. Other people as well, give it a shot.

3. If you hate the book. Quit

One great thing to know: you don’t have to read a book for your goals. You read it to improve yourself. If you are struggling with a book. Just quit. I know when I was reading a book coming almost halfway and still I didn’t like it. So, I quit and read another book. One which didn’t took so much energy from me. Therefore, I was able to read it with more thought and focus.

4. Read physical books

New studies have shown that reading on a screen worse for you then physical books. You are more likely to be disturbed and less focused while reading an ebook. Personally I love to read page by page. The feeling of getting through a print book is just amazing :)

5. Have a book with you at all times

I usually take a book with me to school. It helps me to read more. When I am finished with my homework or just have some time left. I pick a book up and enjoy myself. I guess, you have also little moments during the day where you could read if you had a book. And if you sum those moments up you will maybe and up reading an hour more! I read a story a while ago about that Stephen King reads all day long. That when he was going to a movie he was reading until the movie started. What a legend, right?

6. Make a list of your books

If you keep a list of book you have read you will get a sense of achievements. Goodreads is a good (digital) place to keep track of your books. They also have lots of recommendations you can add to your to-read list. The community will give you the most diverse opinions. A great way to connect with lots of books. This will certainly motivate you!

7. Pick up smaller books.

It seems too obvious but it is not wrong to choose them. There are a lot of amazing small books. So, you will do no wrong to pick smaller books up. Such as Animal Farm by George Orwell.

You should read more it is scientifically proven to be good for your health. Moreover, you will education yourself with it. Therefore, try to implement these tips and read more!

Have a great day! And I will upload soon ;)

Recontextualization; a change in framing

One day, about two or three years ago, my little brother stole my bar of chocolate. I was mad and lost my respect towards him. Later on that day I asked ‘Why did you steal my bar of chocolate?”. He said “Because it is mine”. I said “No it isn’t”. “Yes it is” he kept saying. Then my mom came in the room and asked why I didn’t eat my chocolate bar. My perspective changed; I could n’t find my bar and I said that he stole it , which he didn’t. My facts didn’t changed but the way I looked at it did. This is called recontextualization. The importance of Recontextualization When we get the inside in this phenomena we learn how we can change or perspectives. It also opens up the possibility of radically changing your understanding of a situation or facts without changing the facts. In my opinion, reality can hide the things that are in our reach. It helps us to put the right things in the proper context. Another example, ‘a man is jumping’. Think for a second a

5 Key Points to Accompish your Goals

Before I started self actualizing. I always had big dreams and goals. Never wrote them down, but I had them in my mind. I thought with that attitude I was going to make it happen. Although, now I realize it is the other way around. People, in general, want to realize their goals, including me. But, they fail at the very beginning, with the goal setting process. And I think that shouldn’t happen. So, today I am going to help you to improve your goal setting. To make your goals, come true. The basics To start, we are going to discuss the basics. To make goals more clear you firstly will have to write them down. Make those goals big. And with big I mean really big. So, you only are 60% sure of it. Even if, you want to become the president of America ;) Because I know you can accomplish anything. Not a couple, but a lot. For example, a thirty (Honestly, I myself can only come up with twenty). Later on, you will see that some goals are not that well fitted for your lifestyle. So, you
